Marvel’s Eternals
Marvel has finally introduced us to the Eternals, who will officially introduce us to the Celestials. Eternals are created by supreme
Celestials and they are sent to different planets to protect life from the Deviants. Think of it as a God sending angels to fight off demons while protecting mortal life. Eternals are about to explain the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a combination of mythological history
Starting with Salma Hayek as Ajak, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Angelina Jole as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gigamesh, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, and my favorite Kit Harington as Dane Whitman aka the Black Knight!
Arishem the Judge, a supreme celestial with unimaginable power, created the first light in the universe, and our Eternals. Eternals were sent to Earth to protect humanity from Deviants seven thousand years ago, they were part of history in the making, of every ancient human civilization. Every mythological history, event, and person were our Eternals. Deviants are beasts, apex predators that hunt for any intelligent life in the universe. Ten different Eternals were sent to Earth, each with a unique ability and power, that as a team will stop and defeat once and for all every Deviant on Earth. The question does come up as to why didn’t they help to defeat Thanos, and
the answer is simple, they were not allowed, after all, they only answer to one master, no is not Jesus, but to Arishem. Throughout the film, we get to witness different moments in human history and how the Eternals fall in love with humans. As for the conflict at hand, the Eternals get to learn the truth behind all the conflict between the Celestials and the Deviants, and how the Earth and the birth of a new Celestial will be affected by the outcome of the choice the Eternals will make. The story ends in a very interesting way, the Eternals will be judged by their choice! Marvel left us with two different extra endings, one which I was most excited for as we are shown a new hero who will emerge from its curse, and another hero that left me with questions.
Marvel Studios is truly the best at what they do, and they do not disappoint. I enjoyed every minute of this film, from the beginning to the end. The story was perfect, is hard to juggle multiple main protagonists, and Marvel mastered it after End Game, making Eternals a walk in the park. Marvel cast every character perfectly in this film, their chemistry was on point! The drama combine with the action, with some humor, sprinkled on top, making this film phenomenal. They answered a lot of questions about the Marvel Cinematic Universe but left us with even more questions.
One of Marvel’s best yet, I can not wait to watch this film again and again, which I highly recommend watching on the big screen! Make sure not to miss both extra endings, which will not only leave you with burning questions but also showings us what will be coming in the near future. Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting pretty dark, and they just added a curse to it!
